South Burlington Babe Ruth won big over 2024 Fairfax Babe Ruth 10-2 on Saturday.

SB got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Caleb Merrill doubled, scoring two runs, an error scored one run, an error scored one run, and an error scored one run.

South Burlington added one run in the second.  Fairfax Babe Ruth committed an error, making the score 6-0.

Declan Scavone led things off on the mound for SB Babe Ruth.  The starting pitcher allowed two hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out two and walking none.  Ben stepped on the mound first for Fairfax Babe Ruth.  They gave up seven hits and 10 runs (six earned) over five and one-third innings, striking out five and walking five.  Will Smith threw one inning of scoreless ball for SB in relief.  The reliever gave up one hit, striking out one and walking one.

Dominic Comtois, Smith, Scavone, Merrill, Bradley Clark, William McGrath, and Shreyas Sarepalli each collected one hit for SB Babe Ruth.  Merrill and Sarepalli each drove in two runs for South Burlington.  Clark stole two bases.  SB Babe Ruth had a strong eye at the plate, piling up six walks for the game.  SB stole eight bases in the game.

Bryce went 1-for-3 at the plate as the outfielder led the team with one run batted in.  Oliver, Ben, Noah, and Bryce each collected one hit for Fairfax.

South Burlington play at home on Tuesday against Champlain Valley Silver in their next game.
