Swanton kept adding on runs in an 8-2 victory over South Burlington on Thursday.
The home team opened the scoring in the bottom of the first thanks to two walks. Swanton first got on the board when Camren Martin drew a walk, scoring one run.
A triple by Michael Palumbo extended Swanton's lead to 3-0 in the bottom of the third inning.
Shreyas Sarepalli led things off on the mound for SB. They gave up one hit and two runs over two-thirds of an inning, striking out one and walking four. Sam Raleigh stepped on the bump first for Swanton. They gave up one hit and two runs over five and two-thirds innings, striking out five and walking five.
Maddox DuBois went 1-for-2 at the plate as the infielder led the team with one run batted in. Sam Robinson stole two bases.
Palumbo went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Swanton in hits. Raleigh, Martin, Gabe Grimes, and Palumbo each drove in one run for 13-14 Babe Ruth 14U. Swanton had patience at the plate, piling up 10 walks for the game. Wyatt Moss, Kemper Teehan, and Cayden Chevalier led the team with two free passes each. Moss, Raleigh, and Teehan each stole multiple bases for the home team.
South Burlington play at home on Saturday against Fairfax Babe Ruth in their next game. Game time is 9:30 AM at Verterans Memorial Park
