South Burlington lost to Champlain Valley Red 7-6 on Tuesday even though they once led by four runs.

SB Babe Ruth were the first to get on the board in the first when Dominic Comtois drew a walk, scoring one run.

South Burlington added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after scoring on a wild pitch, and Griffin Luck walked, each scoring one run.

A ground out by Jackson Young extended the South Burlington's lead to 4-0 in the top of the third inning.

Champlain Valley Red took the lead, 7-5, in the bottom of the fourth thanks to singles.

Caleb Merrill started on the mound for SB. The starting pitcher surrendered two hits and two runs over three innings, striking out six and walking two.

Comtois, Young, and Luck each drove in one run for SB Babe Ruth. William McGrath led South Burlington with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, piling up seven walks for the game. Merrill stole two bases. South Burlington didn't commit a single error in the field. Comtois had the most chances in the field with eight.
