South Burlington Fall to Barre 1

SB Babe Ruth fell to Barre 1 7-2 on Saturday.

 

South Burlington opened the scoring in the first after an error scored one run.

 

Barre jumped into the lead in the bottom of the first when Tirian Young tripled, scoring two runs, and a passed ball scored one run.

 

Barre added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning when Trent Loftus drew a walk, scoring one run, then Ben Byrne and Chase Wilkin each singled, and scoring one run.

 

Dominic Comtois led things off on the mound for SB. The starting pitcher surrendered four hits and seven runs (four earned) over three innings, striking out five and walking three. Eli Pike led things off on the mound for Barre. He allowed three hits and two runs (zero earned) over five innings, striking out five and walking four.

 

Comtois went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead South Burlington in hits.

 

Young provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Barre with two runs batted in. The cleanup hitter went 1-for-2 on the day. Austin Grayes, Wilkin, Young, and Byrne each collected one hit for Barre.  Collin Foster stole two bases. Barre stole seven bases in the game. Barre turned one double play in the game.
